In preparation for the upcoming ability to submit Pre-ACK Advance Products on Sunday, January 2, uTax is providing the following important reminders and information.
The IRS has not yet officially announced the e-Filing start date for the 2022 Tax Season. We will immediately share this information with our partners when the official announcement is made.
Before transmitting any returns, be sure to complete the following:
Verify your fees to ensure accuracy. Once a return is transmitted, fees cannot be changed.
Add a bank application to any return created prior to bank applications becoming available in the software program (refer to Schedule below for availability).
Complete and/or verify your default EFIN configuration in the program (to minimize manual data entry on each return).

SCHEDULE: (All times stated are Pacific)
Thursday, Dec 30: The latest software update 2022.006 becomes available. Be sure to transmit to ensure you are at the most current version. For more information on retrieving and installing software updates, refer to instructions located in the Quick Start Guide, beginning on page 32.
Important Note:Software update 2022.006 or above is required. Returns will be refused for “incorrect software version” at Central Site if update .006 was not installed.
Friday, Dec 31: Just before midnight, our Central Site will release Bank Applications (aka EFIN records) to the software.
Saturday, Jan 1: Starting between approximately 1:00-2:00 AM, partners can transmit and pick up their Bank Enrollment Approval Status records (and any software updates). After transmitting and receiving your bank status record, bank applications can be attached to client tax returns.
After ALL bank enrollment status records are released, our Central Site will begin accepting returns containing bank applications. Note: Only Pre-Ack Advance Applications will be forwarded to the banks for processing (on Sunday, Jan 2).
Sunday, Jan 2: Our Central Site will begin sending bank applications to banking partners. The exact timeframe for processing Pre-Ack Advance Applications by our banking partners may vary so set expectations for your clients accordingly.
Remember, you must have completed your office setup and enrollment at EMP and be approved by your selected banking partner before you can submit Pre-Ack Advance applications. Refer to your latest Action Required! Enrollment Reminders sent from email@example.com for instructions.
