Note: This was a limited send only to those partners who elected to Auto-Add Affiliate Partner Program(s) at EMP.

During your enrollment at EMP, you selected YES to Auto-Add uTax Affiliate Partner Program iPROTECT, Protection Plus and/or Forever Good Credit. As a result, your software program will be automatically configured to include the product(s) you selected, along with the base fee and any selected Mark-up amounts on each TY2021 client return you prepare containing a financial product.

• As noted on the EMP Affiliate Configuration page on-screen disclaimer (excerpt): “We offer this pre-set option as a convenience and shall not be liable for any changes made to the Add-On Amount by the software end users”.

To ensure your software is configured as you intended, we are sharing the following important reminders. uTax strongly encourages you to check your software setup, before completing TY2021 tax returns, to ensure your Affiliate Partner program(s) and any Mark-up amount selections are correctly reflected.

To Make Changes in the Desktop Software:

• This short How to Configure 4-Min Video (using iProtect as an example) available on the uTax Resource Center > Video page, provides easy-to-follow steps on how to Verify, Add, Change or Remove these Affiliate Partner Programs and any corresponding Mark-up amounts from within the Software Billing settings.

To Make Changes at EMP:

Any changes made directly at EMP to the Affiliate Partner Program selection(s) and/or Mark-up amounts, will be published to your software program.  

• After making your selection(s) at EMP, if at any time you change and/or remove the product and/or Mark-up amount directly within the software program, EMP will not reflect those changes (and will retain your original selections).

Important Note to our Service Bureau Partners: If applicable, please ensure your participating sub-sites are aware of this important reminder. If you have activated and authorized uTax to support your sub-sites, authorized them to access the Affiliate Partner Configuration page, and they elected to auto-add the product(s) to each tax return, we have sent them an unbranded version of this important communication.
